Round 2 of interval Training

Tonight was a pretty hard run.

I tried running intervals for the second day in a row, needless to say, come mile 3 I decided I had had enough. I swapped back to just running 7mph for the remaining 2 miles and finished up a 5 mile run in 41:28.

I dont know what tomorrow entails as of yet, but there is a spin class at 8:30, so I might make it to that.

Sub 8 minute miles

Tonight I ran 4.5 miles in 35:54. I averaged a 7:58 min/mile pace, which was the fastest I have run in a long time. I'm hoping to get up in the morning and get another long distance run in.

Ride and Swim

This posting is a little late as I rode my bike on Sunday.

I rode for almost 30 miles on the Indian and Tomahawk Creek Trails with some friends. It was a really fun ride.


Then today, I swam 3/4 mile and then got out of the pool only to realize my towel was at home. That was the end of my work out as didn't have anything to dry off with and my boxers would have been soaking wet.

Oh well, tomorrow is our last Softball Marathon of the season and we will see what Thursday holds.

6 mile run!

After taking Thursday and Friday off from what seemed to be exhaustion, I am back on track today.

On Thursday, I planned on running after work but was tired, I just came home and fell asleep at 8PM and didn't wake up until 8AM on Friday morning.

Today, I went to 24 hour fitness and got in my 6 mile run on the treadmills there. At the 4 mile mark, my treadmill died and I had to switch to another one. I am glad I didn't choose to make this an outdoor run, as I looked out the window it started raining around that same time and really started pouring at 5 miles.

Overall this was an excellent run and a great way to get back into the swing of things. This was prolly the longest I have run since the half marathon in KC 2 years ago.

Tomorrow I am going for a 30 mile ride with some friends.

Softball Marathon

Last night we had 4 hours of softball. I fell asleep right when I got home and slept through like 4 alarms this morning. I finally rolled out of bed at 8:15 but that wasn't enough sleep and I plan on running 5+ miles tonight.

Should be a de-energizing day, haha

Last night I swam a half mile and then ran 4.22 miles on the treadmill.

It is getting too cold to run outside after swimming.

30 mile ride

I woke up a little late this morning and decided to hold off my bike ride until after watching the chiefs. To my dismay they lost in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. However, I was able to get a good 30 mile ride. It took about 2 hours and I could definitely tell, I was struggling up the hills on my third loop of longview lake.




Overall, I was pretty happy with my ride and the time. Tomorrow will be an off day, followed my a long swim and run on Tuesday.

Ride and Run

Today I rode 10 miles with one of my friends from softball and then ran 2 miles after that.

The ride was good, a little slower than normal because my friend is on a mountain bike and not used to riding the hills. Then I finished the ride and went on a run. The run seemed a little slow but it was sub 9 minute/miles so it wasn't that bad. I think my legs were just tired and that is why it felt a little slow.

4 total miles!

Tonight I ran to the gym, swam 1/2 mile (800m), and then ran back home.

It was pretty awesome, except when I got out of the pool and started to run back I realized that it was about 65 degrees. I was still pretty wet and everything seemed very cold.

Overall, I was pretty happy though. Both my run times were sub 8 minutes and 45 seconds. There are some pretty big hills to and from the gym and I really tried to run hard up the hills which helped to decrease my times.

1 mile swim!

Tonight was pretty fantastic. I swam a mile in about 38 minutes at the gym. I still felt really good afterwards. I am thinking tomorrow night, I will be running to the gym, swimming a little longer than 500m and then running back.

5.3 mile run!

Tonight, I ran 5.3 miles in 51 min and 45 seconds. It was a little slower than normal but I also ran a much further distance that I have done recently. It also doesn't help that once again, Lee's Summit has a lot of hills.

On another note, I have officially signed up for an indoor triathlon on November 14th. I will need to swim for 10 minutes, bike for 30 minutes, and then run for 20 minutes. I wish it was outdoors, but I guess I will be a little warmer in the water since this is indoors. It also seems as thought I have convinced one of the guys at work to participate as well, so I look forward to some healthy competition.

Run, Swim, Run

Today was awesome, I ran 1.7 miles to the gym, swam 500m, and then ran back.

I always forget that Lee's Summit is very hilly and that always makes the runs a lot more tiring. But overall it felt pretty good.

25 mile ride

Rode 25 miles today only stopping for traffic lights. It took 1 hour and 43 min and was pretty hilly so needless to say, I was fairly tired when I got home.

Another 9 mile ride

9 mile ride tonight, it felt really good. I only had to stop at one stoplight and I think I got up to about 37 mph going downhall at one point.

20/20

Tonight was awesome. I swam 20 laps, which equates to 1000m or 5/8 mile. Then I ran for 20 min, which ended up being 2.35 miles.

It felt really good, I might get a swim, bike, and run in this weekend, but we will see.

Run and Swim

Tonight, I went to 24 hour fitness and ran 2.02 miles on the treadmill and then swam a half mile in the pool.

I felt really good about afterwards. I think I might try and run from my house to 24 hour fitness, get in a swim and then run back. It is about a 1.5 mile run each way but I think I could do that.

I am playing softball tomorrow night, so I won't be doing anything other than that.

9 mile ride

Left work jut in time to get a ride in time before the sun went down.

I found a pretty good 9 mile route with lots of hills making it a pretty challenging ride. I am thinking I will swimming and running in the morning.

Tour de BBQ

I rode in the Tour de BBQ this morning. This ride was 35 miles long and took us all over Kansas City. We made 3 pit stops to eat BBQ and fill up on water. Then at the end we got more BBQ.

A little late

Yesterday morning, I swam a half mile. I don't know what I plan on doing today as I need to bike 30 miles tomorrow......

Maybe I'll get a small run or ride in tonight.
